Dr. Bashir Mohamed Hussein obtained his Laurea (MSc equivalent) in agricultural sciences at the Universitá Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy) in 1997. Having worked as a researcher at the same university, he obtained his PhD in livestock development in 2002 at the same university. In 2001, as part of his doctorate research program, he also worked as visiting researcher at McCauley Land Use Research Institute (Aberdeen, Scotland. Recently, he served as Senior Advisor for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of the Federal Government of Somalia and the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Climate Change of the Puntland State.
