The 3-year Somali Nexus Skills and Jobs is implemented by a consortium led by the Iftiin Foundation and in partnership with Puntland Development & Research Center (PDRC), Success Institute, and City University. It is a three-year program and the second phase of a previous pilot Nexus Skills and Jobs project supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This cross-regional program aims to create realistic, sustainable livelihood opportunities for the countless unemployed youth (15-24 and 24-35 years old) living in Somalia. The Consortium builds on this and their already proven experience in implementing and managing projects.
The program focuses on i) Economic Integration of Youth Through Skills Building, ii) Supporting Young Local Entrepreneurs to be Economically Integrated; iii) Strengthening the Mental Health Workforce and Infrastructure; iv) Enabling Policy and Institutional Environment to Facilitate Youth Economic Integration and Inclusion.
