The PDRC Director Abdirahman Abdulle Osman Shuuke, Management and Staff convey their deepest condolences to the family, friends and #Puntland public over the death of Mohamed Abshir Walde. Mohamed Abshir Walde graduated from Columbia University in 1968 and since then dedicated his life to serving the people of #Somalia. After graduating from #Columbia #University’s #Journalism School as one of the first media professionals in Somalia , he began as a journalist for the #BBC World Service and later on became the Director of Somali Broadcasting Service in the 1960’s. He is credited as a leader in the development and progress of Somalia and pioneering the pillars behind the establishment of Puntland State of Somalia 1998; as a successful academician and businessman, he created abundant job opportunities and mentored countless citizens. Mohamed Abshir Walde is one of the core founding members of #PDRC and always remained a productive, goodwill ambassador of our center.

He is survived by five children and a wife. May Allah grant Mohamed Abshir Walde the highest place in paradise; he will surely be missed.
